front row

loveoutloud.149

i am his biggest fan. i sit on the front row. i smile. i amen. i laugh at his jokes. i pray while he preaches. and i pat him on the back when he comes to stand next to me during the final song of worship. i love this man who loves the Lord. i love him with all my heart.

paper and a pen

loveoutloud.148

he wanted to sit by me in church on sunday. when his papa went up to preach i asked him if he wanted a paper and pen. he happily drew while listen to the message. at the end we all took communion together. he joined in, grateful for what Jesus has done for us. i love helping my kids connect to God.

intiving decorations

loveoutloud.138

i asked gabrielle to gather golden leaves with the little ones. she later helped me give the house a fall feeling by placing the leaves in bowls, and dishes.

give together

loveoutloud.136

we prepared gift bags for the caregivers at the orphanage where kaitlynn lived before she became a washington. this was our first visit back since we brought her home over two years ago. we had fun putting these bags together, together.

let ‘em lick the beaters

loveoutloud.135

we made snickerdoodles tonight. one poured in the dry ingredients while the other held the beater steady. we rolled the little balls of dough in cinnamon sugar goodness then popped ‘em in the oven to bake. the girls licked the beaters. we all tasted one fresh baked cookie and we are saving the rest for tomorrow. best quote from the night by my eldest son, “these snickerdoodles rival oatmeal cookies!”

order

loveoutloud.132

“Be steady and well-ordered in your life so that you can be fierce and original in your work.” – Gustave Flaubert

i find that when the home is ordered in appearance, scheduling, and morals, the family breathes easier and treats each other nicer. this also breeds feelings of confidence, pride, comfort, security, and peace. when i order my home i show love to my loved ones.

puffy pillows

loveoutloud.105

when my dear husband takes a trip he always comes back with gifts for the family. sometimes he even asks for a wish list from everybody. on this most recent trip i asked for new pillows for our bed. oh.my.goodness! our sleep has never been sweeter. they are oversized so none of my pillowcases fit. i don’t care about that. they are just so nice and cushy. love is knowing what will make our lives lovely.

helping with homework

after the cutting and pasting my kindergartener had to do some writing work. he looked up from his page with pencil in hand and said to me, “but I can write all this on the computer.” ha!

new do for the doggie

loveoutloud.96

shep has been with us since he was a newborn puppy. he’s a purebred poodle. seven years old in human years. i call him my circus dog because he jumps so high. he is an outside dog well skilled at catching pigeons and mice. they say that poodles are hunting dogs and especially good at retrieving prey from the water. he’s a well loved pet for us. getting his hair trimmed every once in a while is a way i show him we care.

blogging

loveoutloud.95

i blog regularly at four different dot coms. i do it because i love people. i love connecting with people in such a simple yet profound way. with the posting of every photo, article, and video i am thinking about the people who will click in to connect with one of my creations. if i can bring people hope, beauty, or that ‘ah-ha’ moment then i have been a good blogger. thank you for being one of those people i get to connect with. i love you!
