he wanted to sit by me in church on sunday. when his papa went up to preach i asked him if he wanted a paper and pen. he happily drew while listen to the message. at the end we all took communion together. he joined in, grateful for what Jesus has done for us. i love helping my kids connect to God.

“If you wish your children to think deep thoughts, to know the holiest emotions, take them to the woods and hills, and give them the freedom of the meadows; the hills purify those who walk upon them.”

let ‘em lick the beaters

loveoutloud.135

we made snickerdoodles tonight. one poured in the dry ingredients while the other held the beater steady. we rolled the little balls of dough in cinnamon sugar goodness then popped ‘em in the oven to bake. the girls licked the beaters. we all tasted one fresh baked cookie and we are saving the rest for tomorrow. best quote from the night by my eldest son, “these snickerdoodles rival oatmeal cookies!”

birthday cupcakes for his class

loveoutloud.124

his whole kindergarten class and his sister’s preschool class all gathered around one long table to celebrate his sixth birthday. they made cards for him. they gave him hugs and kissed him on the cheek. we sang, first in spanish then in english. he blew out his candles. we applauded. we all ate sweet cupcakes. i love my boy.
